I'm currently finishing up working on my titles. This has been a really long process as I was using the programme livetype, which is a programme that I've never used before so i had to learn how to use it from scratch and start working on my titles.
Here is an example of the stuff that I've achieved so far
altogether my titles make up about 30/40 seconds of my opening sequence but closer to the point where my opening sequence is finished I will tweak everything so all the timing is perfect. it's taken me 2 and a half hours to do the following 7 seconds as these were the first titles that I attempted. Enjoy.

Technical Issue Whilst Filming
In some of my previous blog posts you have probably seen that I have had some technical issues with my camera which will hopefully all be resolved by the end of this week as I need to start editing everything together.
During my time that I was filming I had some issues with saving the shots that I had filmed. I still don't know why the camera did this but I've come to the conclusion that it was just a glitch and I have some shots saved but I still feel like I need to capture some more shots to ensure that I'm getting the best quality possible for my opening sequence.
In addition to this, I had a problem with transferring the shots from the camera onto the Mac as there was apparently not enough memory on either the camera or the Mac so I will discuss this with my teacher and hopefully get the rest of my shots on the camera by friday and have them all transferred in fridays lesson, then I can start editing and putting it all together so I can hopefully upload some "teaser" clips on this blog.

Pictures, Progress and Filming
As you can see, during the time that I have been filming I haven't updated my blog as much due to some technical issues with the camera which I will talk about later. Here are a couple of pictures that I took whilst filming to show you the process that I went through when filming. I used old pictures from one of my parents old photo albums and picked the oldest ones to use, I then kept the photo album in the shots as I use the photo album later on in my opening sequence. I stained the pieces of paper with writing on with coffee to make them look aged and printed off some more old photos so I had more of a variety of pictures.
For the letters I wrote random words to fill up the space as the audience won't see what is written on the letters at any point due to the fact that it would give away my whole storyline which is not what I want to achieve with my opening sequence.

Annotating Other Candidates Work
In today's lesson we focused on looking at other candidates work from other schools in order to help us when we start filming. We looked at three examples
- Ridin' On Luck
- Voice From The Past
- The Case
We were then given the criteria that we are marked on and we were asked to mark them on things such as titles, sounds, editing and if it was appropriate for the target audience. After we decided as a class what level we would give them and if it would be low or high.
The opening sequence that I graded the highest was VFTP as they spent a lot of time on their titles as they were professional-looking and were extremely creative. In addition to this their use of sound was very creative too.
The opening sequence that I graded the lowest was Ridin' on luck as they had very little titles and bad control of the camera, on the other hand they did have a good variety of shot distance.

Where I'm Filming!
This is the room where the filming of my opening sequence will take place, I will only be using the desk (where the laptop is) which i will change the look of and use my lamp to create the yellow-ish light that I am going for.

I've currently been working with LiveType for my plain titles that appear on screen. I've started to experiment with different effects that I think will be suitable. the title that I chose to start animating was my "A Film By: Claire Stapley" title as it's one of the first ones that will be seen.
I went through each effects category on LiveType and wrote down the effects that I liked and that worked well with my chosen text. They are as follows:
- Frigid
- Spring Loaded
- Static
- Martian
- Cat Eyes
- Transporter
- Type
I also downloaded a new font (Homemade Apple) which is my blog font as I really like it as it looks like handwriting and it works really well with the effects that I've chosen.
